Houston, Texas — A hookah lounge is coming to the corner of Texas and East Main streets.
The Hookah Bar & Grill is being located at the corner at West Main and Main Street in Houston.
The Hookah Club has been on the books for about two years and is set to open later this year.
“We’re hoping to make hookah fun for people, to make it a place for friends and family, and also make it an environment where people can have fun,” owner and general manager Andrew Czajkowski said.
Czajkovski said hookah clubs in the Houston area have struggled to keep up with demand.
There are already more than 2,000 licensed hookah bars in the United States.
The Houston hookah scene has grown dramatically in recent years.
The hookah market has been growing exponentially in the last 10 years.
In 2017, Houston’s population was about 3 million, making it the third most populous city in the nation.
Czabkowski said the Hookah Lounge will feature hookah equipment and a variety of different products, including hand made bowls, hookah pipes, smoking equipment and accessories.
He said hookahs are popular with students and people with health conditions.
Czarzajski said there will be a full bar with a lounge area and seating for about 300 people.
He hopes the lounge will help people enjoy hookah together.
