New York Mets have agreed to a two-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets to make room for the Brooklyn team’s hookah lounge, a source told ESPN’s Marc Stein.
The Nets announced the deal Tuesday on Twitter.
The Mets have been shopping for a lounge lounge to open on the team’s campus since the end of the 2016 season.
The team, however, has not had an indoor lounge open since the mid-1990s.
The deal also includes the right to use the team-owned facility for promotional purposes, a team source told Stein.
Brooklyn will have the option of signing an additional five-year contract worth up to $8.6 million, the source said.
New York’s new lounge will be located in the building where the team will build its new practice facility.
